PrintAccording to the U.S. Department of Labor, the Consumer Price Index for the San Francisco - Oakland - San Jose metropolitan area was up 1.7% in May 2010 compared to May 2009.
Inflation was up 0.7% in the two month period of March to May 2010.
The CPI-U, the index for all urban consumers was at 227.697 in May 2010, up from 223.854 in May 2009.
The U.S. city average inflation was up 2% in May compared to the same month in 2009.
