Indian Stock Market: Reliance Industries Limited

Reliance Industries Limited is one of the largest private sector companies in India. In the fiscal year ending March 2009, it had $30 billion in revenues and turned a net profit of $3 billion. Major business segments of the company are: refining, petrochemicals and oil and gas.

Company revenues have increased by 80 percent in the last 3 years while the net profit in the same period is up 70 percent. The company reported earnings of a little over $2 per share. Reliance shares are traded in the Bombay Stock Exchange and have been trading recently at around $36 a share.
