CBO increases deficit estimate for 2009

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) increased its estimate of the deficit for 2009 by $748 billion. A major reason for the deficit increase is the projection of lower revenues for 2009. The lower revenues estimate comes from the CBO's expectation of a longer and deeper recession.

Intel and Adobe to extend Flash to TVs

Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Intel today announced plans to collaborate on the development to optimize Adobe Flash technology for the Intel Media Processor CE 3100. This effort is expected to provide consumers with richer and more seamless web-based and video viewing experiences through advanced Intel-based cable set-top boxes, Blu-ray Disc players and digital TVs.

Facebook awards more than $1 million to fbFund recipients

The five grand prize recipients of Facebook's second fbFund competition have been announced. The awardees will receive more than $1 million in grants, in addition to mentorship and marketing resources from Facebook.
